چکیده
Abstract A study that would otherwise be eligible is commonly excluded from a meta-analysis when the standard error of its treatment-effect estimator, or estimate variance outcomes, not reported and cannot recovered available information. This wasteful treatment effect reported. We assess loss information caused by this practice explore methods imputation for missing variance. The are illustrated on two sets examples, one constructed specifically illustration another based published systematic review.

Factor Rotation and Standard Errors in Exploratory Factor Analysis
In this article, we report a surprising phenomenon: Oblique CF-varimax and oblique CF-quartimax rotation produced similar point estimates for rotated factor loadings and factor correlations but different standard error estimates in an empirical example. Influences of factor rotation on asymptotic standard errors are investigated using a numerical exploration method. The results are (a) CF-varim...
متن کاملStandard Errors of Indices in Rough Set Data Analysis
The sample variation of indices for approximation of sets in the context of rough sets data analysis is considered. We consider the g and a indices and some other ones – lower and upper bound approximation of decision classes. We derive confidence bounds for these indices as well as a two group comparison procedure. Finally we present procedures to compare the approximation quality of two sets ...
متن کاملA Appendix: Standard Errors
There are several issues concerning computing standard errors for the pooled specification in equation (2). First, insofar as there is heterogeneity in the displaced worker earnings losses, then we expect there to be serial correlation in the standard errors at the individual level. This concern arises even in specification (1). We address this concern by clustering at the person level. Second,...
متن کاملComputation of Standard Errors
In a previous study (1998), how to evaluate whether adaptive testing data used for online calibration sufficiently fit the item response model used by C. Glas was studied. Three approaches were suggested, based on a Lagrange multiplier (LM) statistic, a Wald statistic, and a cumulative sum (CUMSUM) statistic respectively. For all these methods, the asymptotic variance of the parameter estimates...
متن کاملExplorations in statistics: standard deviations and standard errors.
Learning about statistics is a lot like learning about science: the learning is more meaningful if you can actively explore. This series in Advances in Physiology Education provides an opportunity to do just that: we will investigate basic concepts in statistics using the free software package R. Because this series uses R solely as a vehicle with which to explore basic concepts in statistics, ...
